Motorola Moto G5 with Android Nougat Launched

Initially introduced at the Mobile World Congress last month, the latest Moto variant Moto G5 has been launched in India exclusively on Flipkart. Running the latest 7.0 Nougat version of Android OS the Moto G5 comes in two variants 16GB/3GB and 32GB/4GB priced at Rs 14999 and Rs 16999 respectively.

Motorola started a revolution in India buy bringing in great specs at low price through its Moto G smartphone and continues to do so every year buy challenging each and every manufacturer in sub Rs 15000 price segment in the market.

Ditching the large screen size, Motorola has opted for 5′ and 5.2′ as the screen sizes for devices this time around coupled with 2 GHz processor and 2800 mAh and 3000 mAh battery respectively for G5 and G5 Plus. Both variants sport a 12 megapixel autofocus rear camera and a 5 megapixel front facing camera.

Fingerprint scanner which debuted in the Moto G4 still exists along with dual 4G SIM slots and a separate microSD card slot which can be a selling point as very few devices allow dual SIM support along with expandable memory at the same time.

Although Google Assistant was showcased earlier at MWC but the out of box variant of Moto G5 does not support it and as reported will be a part of the subsequent Android updates.

Redmi Note 4 appears to be a direct competitor of the devices but the stock Android experience of the latest version along with quick updates can provoke people to select this one.

There are lots of initial launch offers on 16th March on Flipkart including extra 1500 off on exchange, 10% off with SBI Debit/Credit cards, Rs 900 off on Moto Pulse 2 Headphones and a unique buyback offer on Moto G5 Plus which claims to assure a return of Rs 7000 in case you want to upgrade to some other device in next 6 to 8 months.
