Overseas Players To Watch Out In IPL Auction 2017

IPL auctions are scheduled to happen on 20th of this month in Bengaluru and it would be interesting to see what teams have thought of this time around specially MS Dhoni led Rising Super Supergiants which will be looking to rebuild their squad form nearly scratch after releasing most of its players

The biggest change this time around is the availability of almost all the England players which brings in a lot more talent into the highly successful IPL. Lets look some of the players who will be in high demand this time.

Jason Roy

This one from England will be getting a lot of attention, he has been in sensational form at the top of the order for quite some time now and with a base price of 1 crore his bid will surely raise a lot of bars.

Chris Woakes

Yet again one from England, Woakes is a highly rated bowling all-rounder with excellent batting skills for a number 6 or 7. Base price of 2 crore will not keep any franchise from showing interest in a talent like him

Imran Tahir

Surprisingly Tahir has been released by Delhi Daredevils and many will look to take advantage out of it. At 37 years, Tahir is still roaring and only yesterday picked up 5 wickets in T20 game against New Zealand.

Mitchell Johnson

Although retired, Johnson can still bring fear into most of the batsmen and no one would miss an opportunity to add such an experience in their squad. Johnson has a base price of 2 crore and I expect him to be sold for somewhere around 4 crore.

Tymal Mills

Not many would be knowing him but Mills has been a highly successful T20 player and this got him an International call in the recently concluded series against India. He impressed every one with his bowling specially the way he bowled those slower bouncers at the depth.

Kagiso Rabada

Rabada has been nothing less than sensational since his debut. A young and quick pacer Rabada can be a genuine threat for the opening batsmen in the shortest form of the game. Being South African is an added advantage as they are superheroes in this format.

Trent Boult

Another pacer who will be in demand is Boult. Released by the champions Sun Risers, this Kiwi can continuously bowl near the 150 kmph mark which will be a huge weapon both at the start and end of the innings.

Colin de Grandhomme

New to the international arena Colin has been a highly rated T20 all rounder with his medium pace bowling and hard hitting batting at the depth. With a base price of just 30 lakhs he is a jackpot type of utility to have in the squad.

Corey Anderson

Anderson announced himself at the International level with a 36 ball century against West Indies but has not replicated that success continuously in IPL for Mumbai Indian and hence has been released by them. Adding him to squad should be on every teams radar.

Ben Stokes

Probably one of the best limited overs all-rounder of the current generation, Ben Stokes with a base price of 2 crore is for sure going to get a lot of attention with nearly every team will be looking to grab him to add that extra bit to their squad.

Although there are nearly 200 hundred players up for grab in the auctions not everyone would be sold as franchises have limited amount to spend as listed below

Its already 18th Feb and in two days will get to know what actually happens at the auction. I will be back with the updated squads so keep in touch.
